Extremely grateful for our getaway during the Labor Day holiday to Martha’s Vineyard! It was a wonderful opportunity to vacation in such a lovely and timeless place where African- Americans have deep roots and have been “summering” on the island for many generations.
Since relocating to New York City it was our first chance to steal away from the city. That’s with the exception of visiting my hometown a few times to check on my folks. It was our first time on the vineyard and was a special time away for me especially, since as of late a lot of personal and professional sacrifices have been made, none of which included a vacation. When the opportunity finally arose, it was a wonderful blessing where I was able to really soak in the clean, fresh air (no diss NYC) and take time to relax, reconnect and recharge.
For all of you who are making BIG sacrifices for more pressing matters; i.e. kids in college, going back to school, saving for a big-ticket purchase, your time is coming. And, when it comes it will be all the more special and ever so, worth the wait.
Enjoy the photos from the Vineyard!
Salute.
