Grateful Badass Podcast Episode 24~ The Magic of Thinking Big~ Badass Style (Including the Badass Dilemma Survey Results from last year).
Remember, the Badass Dilemma survey that I presented on the blog back in October of last year? You know, the “Are you a Badass survey”? Well, here are the results of the survey where 92 individuals responded. Check the results and my commentary below. It’s pretty intriguing.
Question #2. Regarding the answer choices below, how would you describe your definition of a badass?
Confident individual 81.52%
An arrogant and overly confident individual 7.61%
A negative descriptive term 8.7%
I’m not sure 2.17%
Question #3. Do you consider yourself to be a badass (if the term is used in a positive light)?
Yes 70.65%
No 23.91%
Prefer not to answer 5.43%
WOW!! More than half of the participants of the survey (mostly folks from Facebook and visitors to the blog) believe that the term “BADASS” is or can be described as a confident individual and not necessarily, an arrogant person. I’m assuming by the results of the survey, these same individuals believe themselves to be a BADASS. More than half of ALL participants.
That’s pretty amazing and I was extremely pleased to hear that I’m definitely not the only one out here claiming the title! Now, we just have roughly a little under 25% of folks to work on. Let them know that it’s okay to be Badass people.
In this week’s Grateful Badass podcast, The Magic of Thinking Big~ Badass Style, I talk more about the results from the survey and share a few excerpts from the book, The Magic of Thinking Big by Dr. Daniel J. Schwartz. Based on survey results, a large majority of us believe that we are BADASS individuals. Now, what are we going to do with that status?
Here are a few examples (paraphrasing) of just what we can do next as noted in Dr. Schwartz’s book:
- Get a clear Fix on where you want to go
- Write a ten-year plan
- Set goals to guide you
- Let your major goal lead you
- Achieve your goals one step at a time (I definitely plan to use this one, especially with my 2018 Badass Bucket list!)
- Build thirty-day goals
- Take detours and obstacles in stride
- Invest in yourself
I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Magic of Thinking Big and as you can see these suggestions are very much on point in helping us to fulfill and maintain our badass(ness)!
Take a listen to the podcast (link above). I share my personal approach to thinking big using the suggestions above, as well as, others to enhance my goals and my life, overall. I think of the book as a class or course in learning to Go Big.
We could all use help in growing, developing and building our way into our next level. Are you still a Badass? HA! Just kidding. I already know the answer to that question. Stay blessed.
Blessings always,
Grateful Living, Badass Style!
