GB 29: Daphne Scott, Founder of MAE Foundation

Progressing to the next phase of the Grateful Badass Podcast, I’m so very grateful to share with you for Episode 29, my very special Supah- friend and Badass sister, Daphne Scott.

Daphne and I go way, way back and spent some time sharing a candid conversation regarding the many awe-inspiring and creative ventures of Daphne; including:

  • Her practice of being intentional about being and staying physically fit
  • Her Vegan lifestyle. Why she chose it and how she loves creating savory, tasty and yummy vegan dishes which she so wonderfully shares to her IG page for folks to visually take in such delights. Delicioso! See below for a link to Daphne’s Instagram page.
  • Her upcoming line of fragrances, including beautifully designed candles and all things exquisite and lovely
  • How she came a ‘Student of the Elders” as Founder of MAE Foundation
  • Lastly, when asked for her own personal theme for 2018! …..for the last few years Daphne’s theme has been none other than-“GIVE UP THAT SHIT AND FLY!” BY Toni Morrison. So, Badass.

Please take a moment and follow, support and volunteer with Daphne’s MAE Foundation. You can find it all here:

The MAE Foundation sponsors Wicker Park Senior “Breakfast & Bingo” EVERY fourth Saturday at the Wicker Park Apartments in Chicago, Illinois. The MAE Foundation is in need of gift card donations to defray increasing costs of groceries for seniors. Volunteers are always needed in order to maintain, support and expand programs of MAE Foundation. Thank you for listening and supporting my guest, Daphne Scott and for your support this blog and the Grateful Badass Podcast!

And, as a call to action:

Remember… “Service is the rent we pay for the privilege of living on this earth.” ~ Shirley Chisholm

Call to Action– Be inspired by Daphne, her lifestyle as a vegan or her service to our elders. Try a new healthier diet or find your passion for people and a method of service. What’s your passion? Our youth? Elders or funding a literacy program? Get out and be of service.

And, a second call to action, tell a friend about the SO GRATEFUL! Mentoring Program. Share with a young, single mom of color ages, 18-25. Help spread the word today. Email Gratefulbadass7@gmail.com for more information or click here.

What I’m Reading– Currently, I’m still wrapping up The Girl Who Takes An Eye for An Eye by Daniel Lagercrantz and moving on to the novel, Exit West by Mohsin Hamid.

Until next time. Blessings.
