Grateful Badass Podcast Presents, A New Series: Be Informed- Law, Social Justice and Community Activism.
Week two of the Be Informed Series is a former podcast guest whose chosen field yields the very definition of social justice and community activism.
Reintroducing Memphis native, Dr. Nichelle Rivers. She is Director of Grants and Funded programs for the Roosevelt Union Free City School District. A proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Founding President of the P. O.W.E.R, Foundation, an advocacy and empowerment organization which works with LGBTQ Youth. Multi media Artist and founder of the Stolen Lives Project (SLP).
Listen in and Be Informed of how one woman is advocating for gender non-confirming individuals with a special focus on transgender persons who are victims of violence and suicide. Dr. Rivers is using her voice, education experience and artistry towards bringing awareness and making a difference within the LGBTQ community.
Further, Dr. Rivers will be the Keynote Speaker for Long Island’s Transgender Day of Remembrance on Sunday, November 17th, 7pm at the Sayville Congregational United Church of Christ in Sayville, New York. Click here for more information.
