We’re excited to continue our New Series- Celebrating the Holidays During a Pandemic. This week, we continue with Demetrice Amos, Owner of Deme Cakes. Enjoy the show!
Demetrice’s bio…
Demetrice Amos is a self- taught baker and has been baking for over 20 years. People used to ask her why not open up your own bakery because you are so gift and talented. Demetrice would reply, I don’t think that’s my calling right now and I really don’t have the mindset to start a bakery. In March of 2020, Demetrice started working from home due to the pandemic which meant she had a lot of time on her hands. Her children came to her and said Mom now is a perfect time to start a bakery. She thought about it and said you’re right, I’ll start and see what happens. After a month the business took off tremendously, locally and out of state. In September of 2020, Demetrice quit her job to run her business full-time. She has created cakes for actresses and artists in Atlanta, Georgia. She has always been an entrepreneur at heart and her decision to leave Corporate America was simply, a piece of cake.
