Dr. Ramona’s bio…

Ramona is a native of Nashville, TN. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Norwich University in Northfield, VT. After numerous years in sales and finance, she transitioned into higher education, which was a dream fulfilled. For the past twelve years, she has taught Banking, Finance, and Business Management courses at Georgia Piedmont Technical College.

In 2018, Ramona was blessed attain a major milestone, she successfully defended her dissertation based on her passion for financial education entitled, “The Impact of Financial Literacy on Student Persistence at Two-Year Colleges: An Empirical Study”. She holds a Doctor of Education in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Argosy University.
In 2021, Ramona was named as the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Development, which allows her to promote student success and achievement with a greater sphere of influence.

Ramona states, “I am honored to serve in a capacity that I love. I hold firmly to the words of the late Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.” It is my purpose and desire to continue to teach and to learn.” She serves regularly with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and the BVB Foundation.
Ramona is happily married to the love of her life, Kelly Pollard and they have two sons, Ben and Derrick. On March 7, 2021, she and Kelly became grandparents to little Shep.
